| Description: |
The proposed project would provide for a four-lane, divided highway with control of access along U.S. 77 which meets Interstate standards. The proposed project would include new overpasses, interchanges, and frontage roads, as necessary to control access. At Driscoll and Riviera, new location divided four-lane highway relief routes to the east would be advanced. The relief routes may be tolled and would require approximately 400 feet of new right-of-way. While much of the remaining upgrade project would be located within existing U.S. 77 right-of-way, certain upgrade locations in Kleberg and Nueces counties would required additional right-of-way ranging from 35 to 200 feet adjacent to existing U.S. 77. Approximately 689 acres (249 acres in Kleberg County and 440 acres in Nueces County) of additional right-of-way would be required for the proposed improvements. |
