Purpose | The purpose of the public hearing is to present the US 77 Sinton Improvement Project to the public and receive comments. The project is proposing to upgrade U.S. Highway 77 from a four-lane divided rural highway to a four-lane divided freeway from Business 77 South to BU North in San Patricio County, Texas. The virtual and in-person hearing will consist of the same narrated presentation by the project team, project exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment. |
Description | The primary purpose of the proposed project is to improve safety and mobility by upgrading US 77 at Sinton to interstate standards as part of the future Interstate Highway 69 corridor. The proposed improvements include:
The approximately six-mile project would require additional right-of-way and potentially displace two residences and two non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT district office. |
Accessibility | The virtual public hearing and the in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public hearing or in-person option, please contact Rickey Dailey, Public Information Officer, Corpus Christi District, at 361-808-2544 no later than 4:00 pm CT, Jan. 10, 2022.
