Purpose | TxDOT will be conducting a virtual public meeting with an in-person option to receive input on proposed design alternatives along US Highway 190 from approximately Farm-to-Market (FM) 2808 to the Coryell County line. |
Description | The proposed design alternatives are a result of stakeholder and community input received from the US Highway 190 Improvements public meeting held in June 2023. This public meeting will present three project design alternatives. Two new design alternatives would extend from approximately FM 2808 to the Coryell County line, with one previous design alternative extending from approximately County Road (CR) 4807 to the Coryell County line. All proposed design alternatives would include the construction of a controlled access freeway with two 12-foot main lanes in each direction, eastbound and westbound, divided by a 24-foot median with a concrete traffic barrier. US 190 eastbound traffic includes off-ramps for Big Divide Road and FM 2657. US 190 westbound traffic includes an off-ramp for Big Divide Road. The eastbound frontage road provides an on-ramp after Great Hills Drive, and the westbound frontage road provides on-ramps after Great Hills Drive and Big Divide Road. New grade-separated concrete overpass bridges would be constructed at Big Divide Road and Great Hills Drive. The design alternatives would include either an overpass or an at-grade crossover at CR 4804.The proposed project would require at least 40 acres of additional right of way (ROW) and potentially cause displacements; the amount of required ROW will be determined during the final design. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners can be found by visiting the landowner bill of rights. The proposed project could involve construction in wetlands. |
