The TxDOT Beaumont District is proposing improvements to the US 69 and SH 73 interchange southeast of Beaumont near Port Arthur in Jefferson County, Texas. The purpose of the virtual public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements along US 69 and SH 73. The virtual public meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation explaining the proposed project, which includes both audio and video components, along with other exhibits and materials for review. All comments must be received on or before Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, to be part of the virtual public meeting record.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Reconfiguring the interchange from the cloverleaf configuration to a turbine (spiral) configuration
  • Adding direct connectors
  • Adding mainlane improvements
  • Improving frontage road and ramps
  • Adding retaining walls and culverts
  • Widening and replacing bridges

The proposed project would occur entirely within the existing right of way and would not result in any displacements.

Special Accommodations:

The virtual public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language, or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you.
