Purpose:

TxDOT will be holding a virtual public meeting with in-person option to discuss the proposed widening and reconstruction of SH 149 from 0.8 mile south of SH 315 to US 59 in Panola County, Texas.

Description:

The public meeting is to provide information and receive comments from the public for the proposed reconstruction of the existing SH 149. The proposed project will reconstruct SH 149 from the two existing lanes to a four-lane section with two lanes in each direction and will complete the Carthage loop. The FM 10 and Adams Street intersections would also be reconfigured for operational and safety improvements. This project is scheduled for construction in the fall of 2022.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23. U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
