The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to US 83 from US 84 to Runnels County Line in Taylor County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 to be a part of the official meeting record.

Description:

Proposed improvements include the following:

  • Widen US 83 by adding 12-foot-wide passing lanes (one in each direction), median, and 6-foot-wide sidewalks in specific locations
  • Improvements to drainage
  • The right of way (ROW) width for this project would vary from approximately 80 to 168 feet

The proposed project would require the acquisition of approximately 110 acres of additional right of way (ROW). There is potential displacement.
