TxDOT Brownwood District is proposing to upgrade and widen SH 6 from SH 16 N. to East De Leon city limits in Comanche County, Texas.
Proposed Project Benefits
Proposed Improvement
The project length is approximately two miles and would require approximately 3.04 acres of additional right of way. No displacements of commercial or residential properties are anticipated.
Chapter 26 Texas Parks and Wildlife Code and Section 4(f)
The Sept. 17, 2019, Chapter 26 public hearing will discuss the proposed project’s potential impacts to 0.706 acres of the De Leon Festival Gardens Community Park. As part of this project, TxDOT is considering a Section 4(f) de minimis impact determination for impacts to the De Leon Festival Gardens Community Park. Approximately 0.706 acres located along the southern boundary of the park would be required for permanent incorporation into the proposed transportation facility. A Section 4(f) de minimis finding means that the proposed project would not adversely affect the activities, features, or attributes that qualify the De Leon Festival Gardens Community Park for protection under Section 4(f). The City of De Leon and TxDOT will consider comments received during the environmental process before making a final Section 4(f) de minimis determination.
