Purpose:

The purpose of the public hearing is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to SH 6 from SH 16 N. to East De Leon city limits in Comanche County, Texas. Displays for the proposed project will be available for viewing during an open house period, followed by a formal presentation and public hearing. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, to be part of the public hearing record.

Description:

The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements and to receive public comment on the proposed project. The public hearing will present plans to upgrade and widen SH 6 by converting the existing two-lane roadway with a center turn lane to a four-lane highway with a center turn lane. The project length is approximately two miles and would require approximately 3.04 acres of additional right-of-way. No displacements of commercial or residential properties are anticipated. The purpose of the project is to improve safety and reduce congestion.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
