TxDOT’s Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) educational video series explains CAV technologies and their potential to improve safety and mobility on Texas roads. The videos were developed by the CAV Task Force to improve public understanding of new transportation technologies emerging across Texas.

Video 1 introduces core CAV concepts and the foundational technologies that form the building blocks of more advanced systems. It highlights how these technologies improve safety and support smarter transportation in Texas.
Video 2 provides an overview of technologies that Connected Vehicles use and their capabilities on connected roadways. It explores the benefits of CVs for safety and mobility and economic opportunities.
Video 3 explores how autonomous vehicles navigate safely and independently. It explains official levels of driving automation, and highlights the safety, mobility, and economic benefits of AV deployment.
