Atlanta District Engineer

Katie Martin, P.E., is the interim district engineer for TxDOT's Atlanta District.

The district includes nine counties: Bowie, Camp, Cass, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Titus and Upshur.

Martin began her TxDOT journey in 2001, in the Atlanta District, after earning her B.S. in Mathematics from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge in 2000. Over the years, she has served in several roles across Design, Lab, and Planning, earning her Professional Engineering license in 2010 through hard work and dedication. In 2018, Martin stepped into the role of Advance Planning Engineer, where she coordinated contract administration, led planning programs, and helped develop mobility projects. Her commitment to the district and its communities continued in 2022, when she became the Director of Transportation Planning and Development, supporting project delivery across the district’s nine counties.
