Flashing left-turn signal arrows are replacing traditional circular green signals to let drivers know they must yield to oncoming traffic. Research shows that an arrow signal allows drivers to make safer left turns than the traditional solid green light.

Arrow signals and rules
- Steady red arrow = Stop. No left turns allowed.
- Steady yellow arrow = Prepare to stop.
- Flashing yellow arrow = Left turns allowed, but you must yield to oncoming traffic.
- Steady green arrow = Left turns allowed and protected.
