36A North

I-10 to US 290

Overview

TxDOT is preparing an environmental impact statement for the 36A North Project (proposed project), which proposes a new north-south facility from Interstate Highway 10 west of Katy, Texas to U.S. Highway 290 west of Waller, Texas. The proposed facility would be approximately 20-25 miles in length and would primarily serve Waller County.

Proposed improvements

The new facility would include:

  • Four main lanes in each direction, separated by a grassy median
  • Accommodations for frontage roads (to be constructed by others)
  • Dedicated pedestrian and bicycle accommodations
  • Drainage elements

All proposed improvements would be within a variable right-of-way width.
