Six-county multimodal study

Introduction

El Paso District is conducting a six-county multimodal study to learn about mobility, transportation, and development challenges and opportunities within the area. The 13-month-long study will consider infrastructure, transportation policies and programs. The six counties include El Paso, Hudspeth, Culberson, Jeff Davis, Presidio, and Brewster.

Project background

The study will result in a solutions framework that will enable TxDOT El Paso District to address mobility needs within the six counties. The framework will take into consideration multiple modes of travel, including cycling; walking/hiking; transit services including bus, airports and rail; shared mobility services including medical-related services, etc.

Next steps

Conduct listening sessions and surveys. Approximately 30 listening sessions will be held in person and online with key stakeholders in a thoughtful and equitable manner.

TxDOT will be conducting listening sessions and surveys. Approximately 30 listening sessions will be held in person and online with key stakeholders in a thoughtful and equitable manner. Surveys will enable the study team to validate data, as well as receive stakeholder feedback at pivotal points along the course of the study.
