Connecting Texas 2050 - Spring 2023 Virtual Public Meeting With In-Person Open Houses
TxDOT conducted the first series of virtual public meetings with in-person open houses from March to May of 2023. All meeting materials, including comment and engagement opportunities, were the same for both virtual and in-person meetings. The virtual public meeting was available statewide and the in-person open houses were held in locations convenient to 13 of TxDOT's 25 districts across the state, with meetings in the remaining districts held as part of a second series later that year.
TxDOT's Connecting Texas 2050 public involvement platform provided access to a virtual reality space containing all informational exhibits presented in person as well as the presentation video. Interactive activities and access to digital comment forms and surveys ensured participants had the same opportunities to share their opinions as people attending the in-person meetings.
