Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Outreach Awareness Event – Wichita Falls

The virtual ADA outreach awareness event will be available on this webpage on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 by 10 a.m. C.T.

Please note, this is not a live event. The materials can be viewed at your convenience. The virtual ADA outreach awareness event will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation with both audio and visual components.

The in-person ADA outreach awareness event option will be held in an open house format with attendees welcome to come and go at their convenience. In-person attendees will be able to view the same pre-recorded video presentation as posted online, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of the project team, and leave written comments. No live presentation will be held.

TxDOT’s commitment to the ADA Accessibility Program is to ensure that every program, service, benefit, activity, and facility open to the public is fully accessible and usable by people with disabilities in an integrated setting that fosters inclusion and does not discriminate. TxDOT ensures this commitment through the agency’s Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan, which includes an action plan on the removal of barriers over time. TxDOT will also present projects containing ADA elements that improves the daily lives of individuals with disabilities.

The virtual public ADA outreach awareness event with in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate in the virtual public ADA outreach event please contact Monty Brown, TxDOT ADA Liaison, at (940) 720-7716 no later than 5 p.m. CT, July 17, 2024. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

La reunión pública virtual con opción presencial se llevará a cabo en inglés. Si necesita un intérprete o traductor de documentos porque el inglés no es su idioma principal o tiene dificultades para comunicarse de manera efectiva en inglés, se le proporcionará uno.
