Purpose:

The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements and to receive public comment on the proposed project. Supporting documentation about the project including maps, drawings and other environmental documents or studies. A tentative construction schedule will be displayed at the meeting. Verbal and written comments from the public regarding the project are requested and must be received on or before March 20, 2020, to be part of the official hearing record.

Description:

The proposed construction includes installation of 5 or 6 foot concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters and dedicated bike lanes to incorporate multi-modal transportation. Traffic calming islands and landscaping along Mesquite Boulevard will be constructed in addition to roadway rehabilitation and asphalt overlay, bike lane striping, concrete driveway approaches and drainage improvements along Mesquite Boulevard and Avenue H. Although additional right-of-way may be required, no residential or non-residential structures will be displaced. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition may be obtained from the City of Nolanville.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
