Purpose The proposed project would reconstruct the existing FM 93 corridor from Wheat Road to SH 317 in Bell County, Texas.
Description

The proposed improvements along FM 93 for the section from Wheat Road to Mitchell Street include widening FM 93 from two undivided lanes to four divided lanes with a raised median. Additionally, FM 93 from Mitchell Street to SH 317 proposed improvements include widening FM 93 from two lanes to three lanes, one lane in each direction with a two-way left-turn lane in the middle. A shared-use path would be added along one side of the roadway and a sidewalk along the other side of the roadway throughout the entire corridor. Two roundabout alternatives are also proposed for the intersections of FM 93 / SL 121 and FM 93 / SH 317.

The proposed project would be subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace multiple residences and non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling 254-867-2700.

The proposed project is anticipated to impact the following properties Yettie Polk Park, Nolan Creek Park Hike and Bike trail, and Harris Park protected under Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966: Yettie Polk Park, Nolan Creek Park, and Harris Park are recreation city parks with walking trails, bike trails, basketball courts, playgrounds, and open spaces.
