Purpose:

The purpose of the open house is to discuss the addition of the FM 2493 project within Cherokee County (CSJs 0191-04-008 and 0191-02-066). The project consists of widening the roadway from two to four lanes with a flush median and constructing a grade-separated interchange at its intersection with US 69. The project requires additional right-of-way and acquisitions are expected to commence this year. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2023, pending available funding. Maps and other project details will be available for review at this meeting. Comments must be received on or before Tuesday, July 9, 2019, to be a part of the official record.

Description:

The Rural TIP is a listing of federally funded projects that will be implemented and/or constructed in the next four years. Transportation improvements throughout the District’s eight county area – consisting of Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Rusk, Smith, Van Zandt and Wood counties – are part of this plan.
