Purpose TxDOT is proposing to improve SH 16 from Robindale East Road to Old San Antonio Road in Bandera County, a distance of 1.5 miles. The project would be constructed in existing right of way and no new ROW would be acquired for the project.
Description TxDOT proposes to expand this section of SH 16 from one lane each way to two 12-ft wide lanes each way with five-ft wide shoulders and sidewalks on each side. The opposing lanes would typically be divided by a center turn lane. A raised median would be located on SH 16 between the eastern unsignalized intersection of Old San Antonio Road and Enchanted River Drive. The bridge over Bandera Creek would be replaced with a wider and higher structure to reduce the frequency of overtopping. TxDOT hosted a public meeting on this project in November 2017. TxDOT made minor changes to the project after this meeting; however, TxDOT was not able to advance the project until funding was recently identified. You may submit written comments on this project.
