Notice Opportunity for a Public Hearing - FM 1925 from Wallace Road to FM 2061

Purpose:

The purpose of this notice is to afford an opportunity for a public hearing regarding proposed widening of FM 1925 from Wallace Road to FM 2061 (McColl Road) (5.2 miles) in Hidalgo County, Texas. Comments or request for a public hearing must be submitted in writing on or before Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

Description:

TxDOT in conjunction with Hidalgo County Precinct #4 is proposing to widen FM 1925 from Wallace Road to FM 2061 (McColl Road) (5.2 miles) in Hidalgo County, Texas. The proposed improvements include widening the existing two-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway. The existing right of way (ROW) is 80 feet wide and the proposed ROW is 120-150 feet wide. The existing roadway would be widened to a 101-110-foot-wide urban roadway consisting of six travel lanes, two shoulders, a concrete raised median, and sidewalks on both sides of the roadway within a proposed 120-150-foot-wide ROW. Drainage would be provided by a storm drain system. The proposed project would also include the realignment of the Mon-Mack intersection and the installation of two underground drainage pipes along Depot Road and Rooth Road. A total of 36.3 acres of new ROW would be required for this project.

Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling (956) 702-6195.

No floodplains, wetlands, waters of the U.S., or section 4(f) properties are present within the project area.

Any interested person may submit a written request for a public hearing on this project. Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are also requested. Written hearing requests and comments may be submitted by mail to: TxDOT Pharr District Office, 600 W. Interstate 2, Pharr, TX 78542 or by email.
