Notice Affording Opportunity for a Public Hearing - FM 1925 from FM 907 to Sharp Road

Purpose:

TxDOT and Hidalgo County Precinct #4 are proposing to widen and reconstruct Farm to Market road (FM) 1925 from FM 907 (Alamo Road) to Sharp Road (1.6 miles) in Hidalgo County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT is affording an opportunity for a public hearing on the proposed project. All hearing requests must be received on or before Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021.

Description:

The proposed improvements include widening and reconstructing the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. The existing right of way (ROW) is 80 feet wide and the proposed ROW is 120 feet wide. The existing roadway would be widened and reconstructed to an 84-foot-wide urban roadway consisting of four travel lanes, two shoulders and a continuous left-turn lane within a proposed 120-foot wide ROW. Drainage would be provided by a storm drain system. A total of 5.4 acres of new ROW would be required for this project.

The proposed project would, subject to final design consideration, require additional ROW and potentially displace one non-residential structure and no residences. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT Pharr District office by calling (956) 702-6134.

The proposed project would involve action in a floodplain. No wetlands, waters of the U.S., or section 4(f) properties are present within the project area.

Any interested person may submit a written request for a public hearing on this project. Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are also requested. Written hearing requests and comments may be submitted by mail to:
