Purpose | The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to widen and reconstruct Trenton Rd. from I-69C to FM 907 (North Alamo Rd.) in Hidalgo County, Texas. This meeting will also provide the public with an opportunity to view project related information and provide comments on the proposed improvements. The presentation content will be the same for both the in-person and virtual meetings. |
Description | The scope of the project would include widening and reconstructing 3.32 miles of Trenton Rd. from a 22- foot-wide rural road to a 66-foot-wide urban road within a proposed 100-foot-wide right of way (ROW). The proposed road would include four 12-foot-wide travel lanes, a 14-foot-wide continuous left turn lane, a 10- foot-wide shared use path for bicyclists and pedestrians, and a 5-foot-wide sidewalk. Drainage would be provided by a storm drain system. In addition, approximately 440 feet of incidental construction would occur east of FM 907 to ensure proper roadway transition. The project would include intersection improvements at Veterans Blvd., Raul Longoria Rd., and FM 907 (North Alamo Rd.). The existing bridge over the drainage ditch, located 0.3 miles west of Raul Longoria Rd., would be widened to match the proposed typical section. A total of 8.1 acres of proposed ROW would be required for the project. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace two residences and one non-residential structure. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the Hidalgo County Pct. #4 office by calling 956-383-3112. No impacts to wetlands or Section 4(f) properties are anticipated. Section 4(f) properties are protected public-owned lands including parks, recreation areas, wildlife/waterfowl refuges and/or historic sites. The proposed project would involve an action in a floodplain. |
