Purpose

TxDOT is proposing to replace the Mile 17 ½ North Road bridge located on Mile 17 ½ North Road, at Main Drainage Ditch in Hidalgo County, Texas. This notice provides an opportunity to comment as part of the environmental review process for this project.

Description

The proposed project consists of an off-system bridge replacement and re-construction of the bridge approaches on Mile 17 1/2 North Road in Hidalgo County that spans approximately 50 feet across the Hidalgo & Cameron County Irrigation District NO. 9 at Main Drainage Ditch #1 located 0.75 mile west of Farm to Market (FM) 491.  The scope of work will occur within the existing ROW and require approximately 0.23 acres of new ROW and no easements.  The proposed bridge consists of two twelve-foot travel lanes, one in each direction, with three-foot shoulders. The proposed bridge will span the Main Drainage Ditch #1 with an overall bridge length of 55 feet. The proposed project would require approximately 0.23 acres of new ROW and no easements.

Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Any environmental documentation such as: maps, drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, or other information related to the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at TxDOT Pharr District Office, 600 W. Interstate 2, Pharr, TX 78577. To review the documentation, please call to schedule an appointment.

Written comments on this project are welcomed and may be submitted by mail to the TxDOT Pharr District Office at 600 W. Interstate 2, Pharr, TX 78577.  All comments must be received on or before November 24, 2024.
