4015 U.S. 75
Sherman, TX 75090
When: Friday, June 6, 2014
2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Purpose: Loy Lake Bridge over US Highway 75 will be closed while crews reconstruct approaches to existing and proposed bridge structures. Crews will also rebuild the inside lane of the northbound US 75 frontage road. Closures will begin Monday, June 16 and last approximately eight to 10 weeks.

The public is invited to stop by for a construction update on Friday, June 6, from 2 - 4 p.m. in front of Office Depot off US Highway 75 and Loy Lake Road. TxDOT staff, City of Sherman staff as well as the contractor, Ragle, Inc., will be on hand to answer questions. Construction is expected to last about 12 months.

Description: The following improvements will relieve congestion and improve safety:
  • Widening the existing roadway from two lanes to four through lanes with left-turn lanes
  • Aesthetic improvements including colored/textured concrete in the island medians and painting of the bridge
The City of Sherman will oversee the widening of Loy Lake Road to a four-lane roadway south of Sarah Swamy Drive, which will include construction of a right-turn lane and installation of a traffic signal at that intersection.
