Purpose TxDOT is conducting a virtual public meeting to share information and gather input from the public on proposed improvements to SH 176 from FM 1788 in Andrews County to I-20 in Howard County. The virtual public meeting will present the preferred alternative, share background information, provide details on the project development process and timeline, and include multiple opportunities for the public to provide input through formal comment.
Description

TxDOT is proposing to widen the segment of SH 176 from FM 1788 in Andrews County to I-20 in Howard County, from a two-lane undivided highway to a four-lane divided highway with two lanes in each direction, shoulders, and a center median, with turn lanes and median openings to accommodate turning traffic. The proposed project is approximately 53 miles.

All comments must be received or postmarked by Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, to be included in the official record of the virtual public meeting. The virtual public meeting summary report and written responses to comments received will be available on this website once they have been prepared.

Memorandum of Understanding The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23. U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
