Purpose

The purpose of this public meeting is to present and receive public input on an altered design that has been developed apart from previous alternatives. The revisions address concerns brought to both agencies at previous engagement events. The revisions proposed would improve mobility to SH 348 and 1st Street. TxDOT and NMDOT would like to discuss the new proposed design improvements with the communities of Farwell, Texas and Texico, New Mexico. The main goal of any presented design is to develop a feasible railroad crossing elimination project that improves mobility and safety for the traveling public across railroad crossings in the communities.

Description

The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online by 4:30 PM CST on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at www.TxDOT.gov. Information about the TxDOT or NMDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the project meeting page or at the public meeting. The public may also request information by emailing us at LBB_Projects@txdot.gov to gather information from the appropriate state agency.
