Notice of Availability of Final Environmental Assessment for FM 1488 Magnolia Relief Route

Purpose:

This notice advises the public that a final environmental assessment (EA) is available for public review for the proposed FM 1488 (Magnolia Relief Route) project from the existing FM 1488 west of Magnolia to the proposed SH 249 east of Magnolia in Montgomery County, Texas.

Description:

The proposed FM 1488 (Magnolia Relief Route) project would construct a four lane (two in each direction) divided highway on new location. This construction would include grade separated overpasses at FM 1774 and Union Pacific Railroad (UPPR) and at the proposed SH 249. The construction of the roadway would be from existing FM 1488 west of Magnolia to the proposed SH 249 east of Magnolia, a distance of approximately 5.4 miles. The proposed project would require approximately 155 acres of additional right of way (ROW) and would potentially displace 11 residential properties or associated outbuildings, two commercial structures, one storm water detention pond and one utility facility; depending on final design. ROW acquisition would be conducted in accordance with federal guidelines.

Copies of the approved final EA, certification of public involvement and supporting documentation are available for public inspection at the TxDOT Houston District Office located at 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, Texas 77007, and at the TxDOT Montgomery Area Office located at 9001 North FM 3083, East Conroe, Texas 77303 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. excluding state holidays.
