Purpose:

The purpose of the virtual public meeting is to gather public feedback on the proposed improvements to Interstate Highway I-45 from the Galveston Causeway Bridge to 61st Street in Galveston County, Texas. The virtual meeting will consist of a narrated presentation by the project team, project exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment. Comments must be received on or before Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, to be a part of the official meeting record.

Description:

The proposed I-45 improvements would include reconstructing and widening I-45 from the Galveston Causeway Bridge to 61st Street and adding a direct connector from northbound 61st Street to northbound I-45. The project would require approximately 2.8 acres of additional right-of-way (ROW) and would potentially displace three commercial structures.
