Public Meeting - FM 521 from FM 2234 to SH 6

Where: Lula Belle Goodman Elementary School
1100 W. Sycamore Rd.
Fresno, TX 77545
When: Thursday, April 28, 2016
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on the proposed widening of Farm-to-Market (FM) 521 from FM 2234 to State Highway (SH) 6, in Fort Bend County, Texas.
Description: The project proposes to widen the FM 521 roadway from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway. Directions of travel would be separated by a raised median. Turn lanes would be provided at various locations. A sidewalk would be constructed on the east side of the roadway. The purpose of the proposed project is to reduce congestion and enhance safety by accommodating traffic volumes. An overpass at Broadway Street is being considered to further accommodate projected traffic volumes.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
