Purpose

TxDOT is proposing to widen and reconstruct US 67 from FM 199 to BUS 67 (Walls Drive/W. Henderson Street) in Johnson and Somervell County, Texas.

Description

The proposed improvements would include the widening and reconstruction of US 67 from a two-lane undivided, rural highway to a four-lane divided, rural highway with a wide, grassy median. The US 67 widening project includes approximately 12.6 miles of improvements from FM 199 to Business 67. The project would require the acquisition of approximately 256.3 acres of new right of way and easements. Minor tie-in improvements are proposed at the US 67 intersections with CR 308/CR 406, CR 1119, CR 1120, CR 1226, CR 1224, CR 2331, Park Road 21, CR 1116, FM 1434/CR 1123, Westlake Road, and Chisholm Trail Road. At CR 1119, the existing tie-in is proposed to be realigned to provide a perpendicular connection with US 67.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace 2 residences and 4 non-residential structures.

Accessibility The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact Dr. Francis A. Smith, P.E., TxDOT Project Manager, at 817-370-6708 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Tuesday December 6, 2022.
