Purpose

TxDOT is proposing to construct discontinuous mainlanes and associated operational improvements along SH 170 from IH 35W to SH 114, for a distance of approximately six miles within the city of Fort Worth and the town of Westlake in Tarrant and Denton Counties. Displays will be available for viewing at 6 p.m. with the formal hearing starting at 6:30 p.m. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, to be part of the official hearing record.

Description

The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements and to receive public comment on the proposed project. The proposed project would:

  • Construct four mainlanes (two in each direction) from IH 35W to Westport Parkway, from Park Vista Boulevard to Independence Parkway, and from the Union Pacific Railroad to the Denton County Line
  • Restripe the existing SH 170 mainlanes from two lanes (one in each direction) to four lanes (two in each direction) and ramp modifications between the Denton County Line and SH 114
  • Remove the Alta Vista Road, Haslet Roanoke Road and Roanoke Road crossings to enhance operating conditions, safety and mobility

The project would not require additional right of way or easements and would not require any residential or commercial displacements or relocations.

Special Accommodation

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The public hearing will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (817) 370-6500 at least five working days prior to the hearing.
