Virtual Public Meeting - US 81 at CR 4227/CR 4228

Purpose:

TxDOT is proposing to improve intersections and reconstruct US 81/US 287 near CR 4227/CR 4228 in Wise County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public meeting on the proposed project. All comments must be received on or before July 29, 2020.

Description:

The proposed project will include reconstruction of US 81/US 287 from a four-lane rural highway to a four-lane, controlled access highway with a grade separated crossing at NRS Ranch Road. An interim project is proposed which will implement crossover improvements and add acceleration/deceleration lanes to improve safety ahead of the proposed project.

Although 0.6 acres of additional right-of-way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
