Public Meeting - FM 1810 at US 81/US 287 Interchange Feasibility Study

Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to present and offer an opportunity for the public to discuss and make comments regarding the preferred alternative for the Farm-to-Market (FM) 1810 at US 81/US 287 Interchange Feasibility Study in the City of Decatur, Wise County. The project is designed to reduce congestion and enhance safety by better accommodating increasing traffic.

Maps showing the proposed project's location and geometric design will be available for viewing.
   
Description: The study is being proposed to identify a long term solution to improve the safety and operations of the FM 1810 at-grade intersection with US 81/US 287.

Operational issues identified include:
  • Better management of the traffic flow
  • Conflicting traffic movements on US 81/US 287 between FM 1810 and US 380
  • High truck volumes on FM 1810 and US 81/US 287

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant of 23 U.S.C. 327 and a memorandum of understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014 and executed by Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
