Where:

6101 Hughey Dr.
El Paso, Texas 79925 (Map)

When:

Tuesday, March 5, 2019
Open House 5 p.m.
Hearing 6 p.m.

Purpose:

The purpose of the public hearing is to present planned improvements and gather public input on the intersection of US 62/180 (Montana Avenue), Airport Road and Mescalero Drive. The first part of the meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience, followed by a formal presentation and comment period. Comments must be postmarked or received on or before Wednesday, March 20, 2019 to be part of the official hearing record.

Description:

The proposed improvements would modify the design of the US 62/180 (Montana Avenue), Airport Road, and Mescalero Drive intersection in the City of El Paso to optimize traffic and minimize stops for eastbound and westbound through traffic on Montana Avenue. The proposed project also includes various sidewalk and pedestrian improvements. A public hearing is being held because the proposed project may substantially change the layout or function of the intersection. The proposed project would require approximately 0.2 acres of temporary easements. Although additional right-of-way is required, no residential or non-residential structures would be displaced.

Special Accommodations:

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (915) 790-4200 at least five days prior to the hearing. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
