When:

Purpose:

TxDOT will conduct an open house to provide information and gather input on a proposed project on I-10 from Loop 375 (Cesar Chavez Border Highway) to Yandell Drive.

Description:

This third public meeting will be conducted in an open-house format, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Maps of the preferred alternative will be available for review and comment. Project staff will be available to answer questions. All handouts will be provided in English and Spanish.

The proposed project consists of constructing direct connectors, ramps, and/or auxiliary lanes and widening existing ramps and direct connectors between I-10, I-110, U.S. 54, and Loop 375 (Cesar Chavez Border Highway). The proposed improvements are needed to improve mobility and address congestion on the existing roadway network. The project requires the acquisition of additional right-of-way. The purpose of the meeting is to provide the public an update on the project status.

The goals and objectives of the I-10 Connect project are:

  • Provide needed connections between I-10 and Loop 375
  • Improve mobility for future I-10 reconstruction projects
  • Maximize existing assets and minimize reconstruction
  • Improve queuing on approach to Bridge of the Americas Port of Entry
  • Minimize impacts to the environment
