Notice Affording Opportunity For Public Hearing - Interstate Highway (I) 35W From Tarrant County Line to I-35W/I-35E Interchange

Purpose:

The purpose of this notice is to afford opportunity for a public hearing regarding proposed improvements to Interstate Highway (I) 35W from Tarrant County Line to I-35W/I-35E Interchange, Denton County, Texas. Comments or request for a public hearing must be submitted in writing on or before Monday, March 8, 2021.

Description:

The proposed improvements would consist of widening the I-35W from four mainlanes (two lanes in each direction) to six mainlanes (three lanes in each direction) separated by a median within the municipalities of the City of Fort Worth, Town of Northlake, Town of Draper (formerly Corral City), Town of Argyle, Town of Flower Mound, and City of Denton, in Denton County, Texas; a distance of approximately 17 miles. The main lanes would be 12-feet wide with 10-foot wide shoulders and a 30-foot clear zone from the edge of the travel lane. The corridor would be updated to the latest design criteria with a 70-mph design speed for the mainlanes, 50-mph for the ramps, and 18.5-feet vertical clearance at grade separations. The existing facility is an urban freeway consisting of two 12-foot wide mainlanes in each direction and discontinuous frontage roads within a variable right of way (ROW) between 300 and 700-feet wide. No additional ROW would be required.
