Purpose The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input and provide information about the proposed improvements to US 287 from east of SH 360 to west of US 67, approximately 4.7 miles, in Ellis County, Texas
Description

The proposed project includes constructing new two-lane northbound and southbound US 287 frontage roads with a six-foot sidewalk on the southbound side and a ten-foot shared-use path for bicyclists and pedestrians on the northbound side, new access ramps, and new grade separated interchanges. The project is approximately 4.7 miles long. The existing right of way ranges between 300 feet to 400 feet.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require approximately 40 acres of additional right of way and potentially displace one non-residential structure.

The proposed project would result in a potential impact to a National Register of Historic Properties (NRHP)-eligible property, the Western Kountry Klub at 5728 Lakeview Drive, Midlothian, TX 76065 under Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966.

The proposed project would involve construction in wetlands. The proposed project would involve an action in a floodplain.
