Purpose TxDOT is proposing to reconstruct Farm-to-Market (FM) 6 from State Highway (SH) 78 to east of FM 1777, a distance of approximately 7.9 miles, in Collin County, Texas.
Description

The proposed project involves the reconstruction and widening of the existing two-lane rural roadway to a four (ultimate six) lane divided highway with raised median. A continuous 10-foot shared use path would be constructed on the east and west sides of the proposed roadway alignment. The roadway passes through the cities of Lavon, Nevada, and Josephine. The existing FM 6 right-of-way (ROW) width ranges from 60-feet to 100-feet wide throughout the length of the project. The proposed ROW width is 140-feet to 220-feet-wide.

The proposed project would, subject to final design consideration, require approximately 53 acres of additional ROW and potentially displace 20 residences and one non-residential structure.

Accessibility The virtual public hearing and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the public hearing, please contact the Dallas District Public Information Office at (214) 320-4480 no later than 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
