Purpose TxDOT is proposing to widen and reconstruct FM 1387 from North Midlothian Parkway to FM 664 in Ellis County, Texas.
Description

The proposed project consists of the reconstruction, realigning, and widening of FM 1387 from North Midlothian Parkway to FM 664 for approximately 5.8 miles. Improvements would include the expansion of the existing two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway (ultimate six-lanes) with a raised median to provide additional capacity and improve safety. Improvements would consist of 12-foot-wide travel lanes, a 10-foot-wide shared-use path on the north side and a five-foot sidewalk on the south side of the roadway. The proposed ROW width will range from 115 feet to 350 feet wide. The proposed project passes through the eastern portion of the City of Midlothian and Ellis County, Texas.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace 10 residences along the FM 1387 corridor west of Longbranch Road. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses.

Accessibility

The virtual and in-person public hearing will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs.
