Purpose:
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Corpus Christi District, will host an Open House to present the proposed roadway improvements for State Highway 286 (SH 286) from Farm-To-Market 43 (FM 43) to FM 2444 in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas. The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements. The public is invited to view project maps, visit with team members, ask questions, and share comments on the proposed project. No formal presentation will be made.
Description:
The proposed improvements include converting the section of SH 286 from a two-lane undivided highway to a four-lane divided rural highway, with a future option of becoming a six-lane highway. The proposed project is needed to accommodate anticipated future growth in the area, to provide connectivity to other roadways in the region, and facilitate access to major evacuation routes.
The meeting will be conducted in English. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
