Public Meeting - SH 21 Relief Route East of FM 1452 to West of FM 2346

Where:

Truman Kimbro Convention Center
111 W. Trinity St.
Madisonville, TX, 77864 (Map)

When:

Tuesday, November 12, 2019
4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Purpose:

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), as the lead agency, is conducting a public meeting to receive input about the proposed relief route for SH 21 around the south side of Madisonville, from east of FM 1452 to west of FM 2346, in Madison County, Texas. The proposed project is expected to increase safety and mobility by diverting truck- and regional through-traffic away from existing SH 21 in downtown Madisonville, where the existing right of way (ROW) can only accommodate a two-lane roadway.

Description:

The proposed project would provide two 12-foot wide travel lanes in each direction separated by a grassy median. The travel lanes would be bounded by 4-foot wide inside and 10-foot wide outside shoulders. The proposed ROW on the relief route of SH 21 would be between 250 and 500 feet wide. There would be grade separations at the crossings of SH 90, SH 75, IH 45 and Pee Dee Lane. Entrance and exit ramps would provide access to SH 90 and SH 75. A new relief route bridge would be built over IH 45. New ramps along IH 45 would provide access to and from the relief route.

Special Accommodations:

If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend this meeting, please call the Bryan District at (979) 778-2165.  Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
