Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed bridge replacement and roadway improvements to US 79 from the Little Brazos River area to outside of Hearne in Robertson County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so that the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Sept. 21, 2018, to be a part of the official meeting record.

Description:

Proposed improvements to the 1.5-mile project area include the following:

  • Replace the bridge over the Little Brazos River
  • Widen US 79 to four lanes with a striped center median from 0.7 mile west and 0.6 mile east of the existing Little Brazos River Bridge
  • Construct four 12-foot travel lanes separated by a 14-foot flush median with 10-foot shoulders and bridge rail

The new project would require approximately four acres of new right of way; displacements are not expected.
