Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to US 87 from Church Street to CR 307 (Jacquelyn Ruffin Road) in the city of Brady, McCulloch County, Texas. Displays for the proposed project will be available for viewing during an open house period, followed by a formal presentation. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, to be part of the public meeting record.

Description:

The proposed US 87 improvements would include reconstruction of the roadway, curb and gutter, illumination, sidewalks, and drainage improvements between Church Street and CR 307 in Brady, Texas. The proposed project is expected to improve pavement and accessibility by adding sidewalks and pedestrian ramps. Continuous lighting is also expected to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety.

All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting and express their views on the proposed project. Written comments from the public regarding this project are requested, and may be submitted either in person or by mail to: : Director of Transportation Planning & Development, Texas Department of Transportation, Brownwood District Office, 2495 Highway 183 North, Brownwood, Texas 76802. Maps showing the proposed project’s location and schematic design will be available for viewing at the public meeting. This and other public information is also on file and available for public inspection at the TxDOT Brownwood District Office also.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
