Purpose | TxDOT's Beaumont District will host a virtual public meeting with in-person option to gather input on the proposed US 90 bridge overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad project located in Dayton, Liberty County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public meeting on the proposed project with an in-person option. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the virtual public meeting, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions and leave written comments. |
Description | The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance safety and improve mobility by eliminating the at-grade crossing to reduce travel delays due to the interaction of trains and vehicles at the US 90/UPRR intersection. The approximately one-mile project includes:
No right of way or displacements are anticipated. The project will take place within the existing right of way ranging from 128 to 131-feet wide on US 90. |

How to make a comment | For the virtual public meeting with in-person option, the public may provide comments in the following ways listed below.
TxDOT will provide written responses to individual comments in a timely manner following the virtual public meeting. The virtual public meeting summary report will be available online on this website once it has been prepared. |
Memorandum of Understanding | The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
