318 San Jacinto Street
Liberty, TX 77575 (Map)

When:

Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 -- POSTPONED
5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed widening of US 90 from FM 563 to SH 61 in Liberty County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, to be a part of the official public meeting record.

Description:

The proposed 11-mile project includes reconstruction and widening of the existing US 90 roadway, from a two-lane undivided roadway (one lane in each direction) to a four-lane roadway (two lanes in each direction) with a possible divided median and left turn lanes throughout the corridor. The existing right of way width is approximately 120 feet, and the proposed project would require a width of approximately 250 feet. Therefore, additional ROW would be needed, which could potentially displace residential and commercial properties. The proposed project would reduce congestion and upgrade the roadway to meet current design standards, thereby improving mobility and safety.

Special Accommodations:

The public meeting will be conducted in English. Persons interested in attending who have special communication or accommodation needs, or require an interpreter, are encouraged to contact TxDOT Public Information Officer Sarah Dupre at (409) 898-5745. Requests should be made at least two days before the event. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
