Public Meeting - US 90 Project from FM 563 to SH 61
City of Liberty Auditorium

Liberty, Texas 77575 (Map)
Tuesday, March 3, 2020
5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
TxDOT will host a public meeting to gather input on proposed improvements to US 90 from FM 563 to SH 61 in Liberty County, Texas. The public meeting will be conducted in an open house format with informational displays and attendees can come and go at their convenience. No formal presentation will be provided. All interested community members are invited to attend. Comments must be received by Wednesday, March 18, 2020, to be part of the official public meeting record.
The approximately 11-mile-long proposed project would reconstruct and widen the existing US 90 facility, from a two-lane undivided facility (one lane in each direction) to a four-lane facility (two lanes in each direction) with a possible divided median and/or turn lanes. The existing facility does not meet current or projected traffic demand, which affects mobility in the area. The proposed project would reduce congestion and upgrade the facility to meet current design standards, thereby improving mobility and safety.
The existing right of way (ROW) width is approximately 120 feet, and the proposed project would require a width of up to 250 feet. Therefore, additional ROW would be needed which could potentially displace residential and commercial properties.
The public meeting will be conducted in English. Persons interested in attending who have special communication or accommodation needs, or require an interpreter, are encouraged to contact TxDOT Public Information Officer at (409) 898-5745. Requests should be made at least two days before the event. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the district public information officer at (409) 898-5745 at least two days prior to the meeting. Because the public meeting will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least two days prior to the public meeting. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.
