Description:

The Fredericksburg Relief Route Study is in the final stages of exploring the feasibility of constructing a US 290 Relief Route which would give people the option to travel around, rather than directly through, Fredericksburg. The purpose of the study is to determine if there is a viable and publicly supported route option that addresses Main Street traffic concerns. Public meetings and workshops have been held throughout the process. Over the last several months, the number of route options has been reduced and the Technically Preferred Route Option identified. The Technically Preferred Route Option reflects the evaluation criteria established by the Gillespie County Relief Route Task Force and publicly vetted during previous public meetings.

The Fredericksburg Relief Route Study is overseen by the Gillespie County Relief Route Task Force. Support for the study was provided by the City of Fredericksburg, Gillespie County and TxDOT.
