Virtual details The virtual open house will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The virtual open house will be posted online on Tuesday, Feb. 20 by 5 p.m. To log onto the virtual public meeting, go to www.txdot.gov and search “I-35 Link Study” to view the presentation, review materials and make comments.
In-person details

The in-person open houses will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The in-person open houses will be held on the following consecutive days at three locations within the study area:

Purpose TxDOT is conducting a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study to identify safety and mobility improvements along I-35 from SH 45 Southeast to CR 382/Cibolo Valley Drive in Travis, Hays, Comal, and Guadalupe counties, Texas. The purpose of the I-35 Austin to San Antonio Link Study is to explore transportation alternatives to address the growing safety, mobility and connectivity needs along the corridor due to the projected population and employment growth in the region. This series of open house meetings is to provide an opportunity for the community to review and comment on the draft purpose and need, the range of alternatives developed to address the I-35 corridor needs and the evaluation process that will be used to identify the feasible and recommended alternatives, which will be evaluated further in later stages.
Description

The study corridor covers 46 miles of I-35 from SH 45 Southeast in Travis County through Buda, Kyle, San Marcos and New Braunfels to CR 382/Cibolo Valley Drive in Guadalupe County.

Memorandum of Understanding As provided for by 23 CFR 450.212, 23 CFR 450.318 and Appendix A to 23 CFR Part 450, the results or decisions of this Planning and Environmental Linkage Study may be incorporated into or used as part of the review of this project under the National Environmental Policy Act, which will be carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 USC 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
