Open House - US 83 and SH 15 Bridge Replacements Project, Hemphill, Hansford and Lipscomb Counties

Purpose:

TxDOT will conduct a public open house for two bridge replacements on US 83 in Hemphill County; two bridge replacements on SH 15 in Hansford County; and one bridge replacement on SH 15 in Lipscomb County. The open house will convene with a short presentation from TxDOT at 6 p.m. Exhibit review, comments, and questions will be welcome after the presentation concludes. TxDOT personnel will be onsite to answer questions regarding the project. Comments must be received by Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, to be part of the record.

Description:

The project limits in Hemphill County are on US 83 at West Fork of Horse Creek (north) and West Fork of Horse Creek (south) both located approximately 13 miles northwest from Canadian. This roadway will be open during construction via an on-site detour limited to 1-lane traffic control utilizing temporary traffic signals for each location. 

The projects limits in Hansford County are on SH 15 at Farwell Creek, located approximately 1.5 miles east from Gruver and on SH 15 at Palo Duro Creek located approximately 7 miles east from Gruver. This roadway will be closed during construction for an estimated 21 calendar days.  A detour will be signed for the traveling public for each location.

The projects limits in Lipscomb County are on SH 15 at Ivanhoe Creek located approximately 6 miles east from Follett.  This roadway will be closed during construction for an estimated 21 calendar days.  A detour will be signed for the traveling public.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
