Public Meeting - US 54 Dalhart Roadway Rehabilitation

Purpose:

TxDOT, in conjunction with the City of Dalhart and Hartley and Dallam counties, will conduct an open house regarding the rehabilitation of US 54 through the City of Dalhart. The open house will convene with a short presentation from TxDOT at 6 p.m.  The remainder of the open house meeting time will be dedicated to participant review of exhibits, asking questions, and providing comments on any aspect of the proposed project. TxDOT personnel will be onsite to answer questions regarding the project. Comments must be received by Wednesday, July 24, 2019, to be part of the record.

Description:

The project proposes upgrading the existing US 54 roadway by rehabilitating the existing pavement to concrete from the Rita Blanca Creek bridge to US 87 and constructing sidewalks and pedestrian accommodations from the Dalhart city limit to US 87. Improvements to existing driveways would also occur as part of the proposed project. Additional right of way will be required from one parcel on one property. There are no anticipated relocations of existing businesses or residences.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
